What is narrative therapy?

Everyone has a story. Without noticing, we are writing and re-writing our stories every day - the pen is always moving across the page, working away in the background.

How we see ourselves, and how we experience life, is dependent on the things we tell ourselves.

There are endless ways through which our stories are shaped over time:

  • Traumatic events

  • Childhood memories & experiences

  • Friendships, families & relationships

  • Workplaces & where we spend our time

  • Society, and how society treats us

  • Our feelings & thoughts, and what we do with those feelings & thoughts.
