Reclaim your story
todayCounselling & psychotherapy for adults and teenagers.
Hi, I’m Rachael
I’m a therapist. (The talking kind).
I’ve been a practising counsellor for over 6 years. I work from the foundation that everyone has a story to share, a story that will continue to be written and rewritten across the lifespan. This approach, known as narrative therapy, is collaborative, non-pathologising and compassionate. You are the expert in your life - I’m just here to help you draw out your own story.
I’m an ACA-accredited counsellor with a Master of Counselling, experienced in helping adults and teenagers navigate life’s difficulties, process traumatic memories and integrate their experiences into their life stories.
Everyone has a story, and I can’t wait to hear yours.
Narrative therapy is for everyone
As your therapist, I can offer a collaborative, compassionate space to help adults and teenagers navigate the following:
Anxiety & depression

School, uni or work-related stress
Parenting concerns & issues
Antenatal issues & postpartum life for new parents
Domestic, family & intimate partner violence survival & recovery
Recovery & healing for sexual assault
Men’s behaviour change & DFV perpetrator counselling
Alcohol & drug misuse
Grief & loss
Self-esteem, self-identity & negative self-talk
Loneliness & isolation
Sexuality & gender identity
Disability & chronic illness
Childhood trauma & processing of traumatic events
Significant life changes

Before our first session, I would like to offer you a free 10 minute phone consultation to get a sense of your therapeutic needs. If working together is beneficial, we can go ahead with either an open-ended arrangement, or agree to a fixed number of sessions.
Once we have organised a time to meet for our first session, you can expect unconditional support and care for your mental health requirements within a safe and therapeutic space.
In our first session I will ask you to read over a confidentiality and costs agreement for sessions. -
Using a non-pathologising, collaborative approach in the counselling room, narrative therapy styles can draw out the stories of teenagers and young adults, giving them agency to write and re-rewrite their stories in a safe space.
My style of therapy places you in the driving seat of your story - I’m there to listen and guide you along.

I understand things come up and sometimes, we need to cancel sessions. Please provide me with 48 hours for a cancellation as this ensures I can operate a smooth business and meet the needs of all my clients.
-
For in-person sessions, I offer 60 minute sessions at $150 per session.
For video conferencing calls (using Zoom), I charge $120 per session.
I also offer sliding scale fees for clients who cannot pay the full fee, or where paying the full fee is a barrier to accessing counselling.
Counselling and psychotherapy are treatments, not luxuries, and I do not want costs to become a barrier to accessing Red Hill Therapy. Please reach out to me about sliding scale fees and we can come up with a plan together.
Unfortunately, Medicare rebates are not available to counsellors and psychotherapists. This is why I make every attempt to keep my rates competitive. If costs are an issue for you, please reach out privately and we can figure something out.
